“My Caliraya Blog” by: John Morri
We were biking towards the very steep road to Caliraya lake when I heard two cyclist behind me talking, laughing at their own craziness ,of even trying this not so safe climb.
“Ba’t ba natin aakyatin to?” (Why are we climbing this?) said the boy
“Dapat nag patag nalang tayo.hahaha!” (We should have stayed highway. LOL!) Said the boy.
They told each another, “pero naahon na tayo!” (But we’re here!)
Their conversation it would be fun to eavesdrop more, but that was not the perfect time. I had to focus on my own climb because i want to go to the peak first to see the beautiful sunrise.
I boost myself, crawled my way to the top of the steep hill. Then armed with fierce determination, I lifted my heavy bike towards the summit.

When I was finally there, I had a clear view of what the other bikers have been going through. Then I asked myself the same question, why am I doing this thing?
What are the benefit of my biking? What are you getting from this?
I know that all Cyclists have experienced the same question. And I know you also got tired of explaining.
One thing I’ve learned in life as a human is you can never understand a person until you are in just the same position as him. So as we try to be silent whenever a friend questions our decision in life, we also know, that a fellow nature-lover and adventurer can only understand what we are getting from mountain biking and its benefit . Here are just some.
I just want to clarify that I am not expert in biking, and I am not the one. I am just more reflective with my life, that what I experience in biking and it has benefit on me. One of my best ways to reduce my risk of health problems is riding my bicycle regularly associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
Here are the benefits of Biking in:
1 . Physical Health
Biking use all my muscle groups. Biking is an aerobic exercise like dancing, that our blood vessels, heart and lungs all get a function.
As I was resting alone in the middle of the road, I felt my back and legs aching. It was painful that I wanted to stop. It was easier to give up and stop, but I kept going and going until I reached my destination.
Biking is easy but it hard when your body is not physically fit. It will test your body, push you to the limits, and no matter how long destination is, keep moving and never quit. It helps that you have the right bike for steep road, but in the end the decision to persevere is all yours.
You got to keep pushing forward, keep showing up your best. Believe that every hardship that you’re going through is preparing you to something bigger something harder, something greater.
2. Mental Health
Poor mental health can affect our physical well-being negatively. It can affect on our self-confidence and make it harder to focus. Mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and stress can be break by biking. This is the result of the exercise itself and because of the relaxing and enjoyment riding a bike can bring. Aerobic exercise is good for the brain in other ways as well. This may be one reason why our regular physical activity helps keep thinking and learning.
Biking is one of my ways to help me to focus in memorizing and active my brain cell. I ride my bike when my exam is near to keep my brain active. It will help my brain to stay alive during my exam its help to focus more.
3. Confidence
For those who are just first timer, some questions come out of their minds – “why am I doing this thing?” or “Can I overcome this path?” In regular biking can help us in solving problems and in decision-making and that’s why people get boost their confidence.
Believe in yourself I know that you’re biking with a group and you cheer each other. But in the middle of exhaustion, there are some moments that no matter how you need help from your group, you just got to rely on yourself.
Some moments, you couldn’t even exert more energy to catch your group, your energy is draining fast. There is just one thing to do is rely on yourself. Believe that you can do it and believe that you can give more.
4. Mood

Biking also leads to these mental health benefits, reduced stress levels some biker says that biking is their stress reliever. Biking also enhance relaxation and motivation many bikers I know that they motivate themselves because of biking.
I had a better overall mood when i viewed the pleasant beautiful nature when enjoying my ride. I described that i did not feel exhausted because of the nature surround me and enjoyed my ride. Reaching my destination is one of my best feelings it makes me happy. Finally I enjoy the fruit of all my hard work and extreme climb.
Reaching your destination makes you more appreciative of life’s little or bigger achievement. It teaches us not to hold back on enjoying the moment.
5. Motor Skills
Regular Biking enhance my motor skills. Maintaining good balance is important to keep the bicycle in an upright position. Coordination skills are required so we can pedal while maintaining the eye on the road and maintaining our grip on the handlebars of the bike. Strength and Power is also necessary for increasing our speed. We need to have enough endurance and stamina to keep the pedal down consecutively.
I remember that how bad I felt when I couldn’t keep up with my fellow bikers. I am always left behind, getting tired faster and slowing. But as I keep going ,I knew to let go of that thinking, and yet climb at my own pace. Eventually let go of what others might think of me. In keeping forward, I realize that my motor skill is improving in that situation because of the coordination required to maintain my speed to catch them.
6. Sensory Experiences

Biking also provides several sensory experiences to us. We become more aware of the position of our bodies on the bicycle.
Aside from these, biking can also enhance our five senses the sense of sight, sense of hearing, sense of taste, sense of smell, and sense of touch. Biking provide us with tactile, auditory, visual stimulation and olfactory that get to experience a more enjoyable and memorable ride but the most enjoyable and memorable ride is the Caliraya Lake. It is better to celebrate Spend some time. Take a photo. Feel the breeze of the lake, the connection with nature. Not everyone can experience that thing.
7. Biking As a Therapy
Our body is telling us to take good care of our health. Having a healthy lifestyle is easy when you have a regular exercise. I admit that after biking i realization that I need to continue this Journey to have a better health to get rid my old habits.
There are several therapeutic benefits to those who engage in this activity by regular biking because it can help me to improve both my physical and mental health, develop my motor skills and enhance my sensory experiences, so this sport is suitable and good for you.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
